Guide:Morpheme
This page serves as a guide for creating pages about suffixes, prefixes, or other unique parts of speech that may be coined in a MOGAI context. Template:OtherIdentity should be used. Check the suffix or the prefix category for examples of filled out pages. If a term can be used as a suffix/prefix, but wasn't coined specifically to be one, another guide page is probably a better fit.
Alternate Names
- If there were alternate versions of this prefix/suffix that mean the exact same thing and/or were presented as synonyms, put them here.
Etymology
Origins of the name/s, even if it's "obvious."
Pronunciation
- Phonetic: {{{Phonetic}}}
- IPA: {{{IPA}}}
How to pronounce the title of this article. Use Template:Pronunciation, which has spaces for phonetic spelling and International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Below the use of this template you can also embed a video or audio file where someone pronounces the term. It is preferred to have at least two of these, but we understand that's a lot of effort. If you don't have the ability to add this at the time of making the page, it's fine to just place Template:NeedsPronunciation here or at the top of the page. To make it less effort: Easypronounciation.com has an English Phonetic Spelling Generator which may be used, but users should keep in mind it may not always be accurate and the original words a term's name is derived from should always be considered.
Definitions
- Text goes here. Put the original text used when coining here. - Person who coined, year, citation
Additional commentary about what makes this unique here. If this has ever been accidentally recoined by the same name with a different definition, talk about that here too.
Basically, define what the suffix/prefix is used for. Is it exclusive to a certain type of gender, like neurogenders or fictigenders? Can it apply to any gender based on an abstract concept, like plants or space? Is it exclusive to usage by anyone, like systems or people with ADHD?
History
Talk shortly about when it was coined, if there was lots of discussion about it, and cite sources of when it was officially coined. If there isn't a specific unique coining post for this suffix/prefix, try to find the earliest example of it being used in a MOGAI context and put "the earliest example of this being used is..." and cite that.
